Bio

I am originally from a small town in southern Georgia. I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre from Valdosta State University.  While in college, I worked for the college radio station WVVS-Valdosta as a  DJ.  In 2001, I left South Georgia to live in Tennessee and become a guide on the Ocoee river.  In the winter of 2002, I moved to Boone, North Carolina to start my career in television at a local station.  While learning the ropes in television, I taught myself to snowboard and soon became an instructor.  After working in the industry for a year, I decided that teaching was my passion. This is when I decided to attend Appalachian State University to pursue a Masters in Arts in Educational Media.

In the fall of 2005, I decided to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to pursue a Masters in Secondary Education.  I began my teaching career at Sale Creek School In 2006.  I taught several grades and subjects at Sale Creek School.  I began teaching at Ooltewah Middle School in 2013.  My husband, Charles, is a 5th grade teacher at Ooltewah Elementary School.  I have 2 children, Henry, 5, and Ada, 2 years.
