Education

I began my college career at Lee University, where I planned and studied to be an elementary school teacher. After spending a bit of time in the classroom, I decided that I wanted to work with older students. I moved to Chattanooga and transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I graduated from UTC in December of 2012 with a Bachelor's in Middle Grades Education: English and Social Studies.

Experience

I have worked throughout Hamilton County since I moved to Chattanooga in 2009. While in at UTC, I worked with a program called GEAR UP and spent two semesters working as an after-school tutor and in-school teaching assistant at Howard High School. I then spent a semester at East Lake Academy working in a sixth grade classroom. After graduating, I spent a semester co-teaching a 3rd grade class at Brown International Academy. I started the 2013-2014 school year at Ooltewah Middle working as an exceptional education assistant and stayed for three years! I left Ooltewah last school and spent some time at Hunter Middle School and Loftis Middle School teaching both 8th grade Writing (Hunter) and 6th,7th,8th grade Reading and Math Intervention (Loftis). I am very excited to be back with the Ooltewah Middle family teaching ELA!
